Commissioned in 62 Field Regiment in Sep 1984 and joined / transferred to Special Services Group (SSG) in April 1987; has vast experience of Command, Staff and Instructional appointments. A graduate of Command & Staff College, Armed Forces War College (NDU) and U.S Army War College – MCU (USA). Holds Masters Degrees in War Studies and Strategic Studies. Commanded 2 Commando Battalion (SSG), an Infantry Battalion (19 Punjab) and also Commanded Pakistan Quick Response Unit (SSG) at Sierra Leone. Commanded a Special services Group Brigade, General Officer Commanding of Headquarters Special Services Group, raised and operationalized an Infantry Division(Special Security for CPEC) and Director General Infantry at General Headquarters.
Other major appointments held include Instructor at Headquarters Special Services Group, Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul, Brigade Major, United Nations Military Observer in Sierra Leone, General Staff Officer -1 at Headquarters Force Command Northern Areas and Directorate General Inter Services Intelligence, Faculty Member at National Defence University. Has been Colonel Staff of Headquarters Special Services Group Division. Retired as Director General Infantry, General Headquarters.
Presently, the General Officer is serving as member of Central Board of Directors at Fauji Foundation Head Office and on the Board of Directors of some associated companies i.e Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim Ltd, Askari Cement Ltd, Fauji Kabirwala Power Company Ltd and Foundation Wind Energy – I & II Ltd.
